Where Passion Meets Practice

Stuff We're Good At

01

TRAUMA TREATMENT AND PREVENTION

We have advanced training in a variety of trauma interventions, including Rapid Resolution Therapy™, Polyvagal Theory, Seeking Safety™ and Trauma-Informed Care.

What sets our practice apart is our ability to treat trauma without asking clients to re-live it or re-narrate it.  In other words, you don't have to tell us what happened.  Our training allows us to make an impact without knowing the details.

We also provide trauma prevention.  Engage with us within 24-48 hours of the trauma or crisis and we will assist in de-escalating the trauma response.  Rapid intervention has proven to decrease symptoms of chronic post-traumatic stress.

If you or a loved one has experienced miscarriage or infant loss, we understand the isolation and grief that accompany this experience. In order to understand why we are different in our our approach, it might help to know the back-story. In most situations, therapists agree that self-disclosure is only to be used when truly beneficial to the client. In the case of miscarriage or infant loss, we find it to be beyond beneficial.  There is a unique soul connection in this community.  Here is Amber's story...

At Bird & Branch, we use an eclectic approach to treating anxiety and phobias that includes Rapid Resolution Therapy™, Neurolinguistic Programming and Mindfulness.  We also incorporate elements of Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy and expressive arts therapies. Read more...

WOMEN'S HEALTH

We geek-out about healthcare for women, books for women, medicine, diagnoses, injustices and all the things that impact women.

We're all women and we're all raising little women.  You might say we're a little obssessed and, because of that, we are expertly situated to help women recover from hurts, harms and stresses.

We are trained in topics that impact us, including postpartum, (peri)menopause, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, domestic violence and sexual assault.  We utilize therapies that are inherently feminist, like the strengths perspective and narrative therapy.

Our primary therapist, Michelli, has research interests in women's pain perception and is the author of a soon-to-publish book, "A Book for Girls." Her co-therapist, Amber, specializes in pregnancy, postpartum, infant loss and miscarriage.
